Special Education Jobs at The Talk School
This is not like other places you've worked.
If you became a therapist or an educator to actually change children’s lives, and you have spent years being stretched too thin to do it, read on. At The Talk School you work inside a small, integrated team, with the time and support to do your best work, at a school that invests in its people as seriously as it invests in its students.

Working at a Special Education School
A school that invests in its people.
In a field where clinicians are conditioned to move on, because too many places treat them poorly, our team stays for years. They stay because caseloads are humane, because speech, occupational therapy, and teaching happen side by side instead of in silos, and because the culture asks everyone to be all in for the students. Talk provides extensive on-site training in multisensory language and literacy, ongoing outside professional development, and tuition reimbursement toward college courses. If you want to keep growing while you do the work you trained for, this is a rare place to do it.
Speech, OT, and Special Education Roles
The roles that make Talk work

Speech-Language Pathologists
Lead the language and communication work at the center of everything we do, right in the classroom.

Occupational Therapists
Help children regulate, move, and engage, with therapy integrated through the whole day.

Special Education
Teachers
Teach our structured, multisensory curriculum and hold the day together for a small class capped at 8 students.

1:1 Teaching Aides
The backbone of our classrooms. Aides make individualized support possible.

Speech and OT Internships and Field Placements
Talk hosts interns, student teachers, and field placements in speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and special education. It is how we help train the next generation of specialists, and how many of our best people first found us. If you are a student looking for a placement that will actually teach you something, we would love to hear from you. Students in speech, OT, and special education programs can reach out about internships and field placements.
